Purchase: I can't remember what I paid - I ordered them because my old fly boots had worn out and I couldn't find the brand I was used to using (shoo fly leggings)I thought I'd try these.
Likes: The mesh material is sturdy and the light blue plaid color is nice.
Dislikes: I have three horses ranging from 15 hands to 15. 3. I bought mediums for the 15 and 15.1 hand horses. The mare has 8 inches of cannon and the larger gelding has 9. The mediums are too small. The large size fits my 15.3 hand gelding with 9 inches of bone but they are snug on him. So they run small.
Secondly, they flair at the bottom to cover the pastern and coronary band. This is fine, but the velcro is poorly placed so that you can't fasten it without huge gapes in the boot - large enough for flies to take advantage of the unprotected area and bite.
Quality: It seems okay so far. But the velcro straps are rather thin and I don't expect them to stay attached to the boot over time.
Summary: Another disappointment from Schneider's.
I wouldn't recommend them.
