Purchase: Bought this from a tack shop online (Millbrook Tack) on sale, paid $700 for it NEW. Which was a steal really. I really wanted this model because it was said to be modeled after the PJ Delgrange saddles, and also to be well-suited for shorter, smaller framed riders.
Likes: Love the look and feel of the saddle, it is SO comfortable. It puts me in a correct position, and being petite, that can be hard to do. I feel very secure in the saddle. I also love the rich chocolate color I got, it is much nicer than the orangey color a lot of saddles are nowadays.
Dislikes: Flaps were pretty stiff when it arrived. However, I oiled it and really worked the leather in before my first ride and this seemed to help a lot. I was also somewhat misled about the type of leather used; I was under the impression that it would be made of the soft calfskin that most Toulouse's have, but this model has a much stiffer leather. In all honesty though, it may hold up better in the long run.
Quality: Well made, stitching is tight and everything is in great working order. Like I said, the leather just seemed "cheaper" or not as nice of quality, but I'm sure once it breaks in it will soften up quite a bit.
Summary: Love the way this saddle feels when I ride, and I really like the way it looks too. It also seems to fit all the horses that I ride (catch rider) fairly well with a medium tree, from in-shape TBs to fat ponies.
