I bought a treeless saddle to fit my hard to fit horse (round no/low withers pony) from Happy Horseback saddles in Vernon BC. It cost me just under $1200 including $68 of shipping.
Likes: My pony moved out really well under it, it had good clearance over the spine. The english girth is incredible, beautiful leather and elastic and he never fidgeted when girthing him up. Very nice looking.
Dislikes: Uncomfortable to the point of being unable to ride in it for more than 10 minutes at a time. There is a raised velcro strip down the centre of the under side of the seat that makes it feel like you are sitting on a 1x1! A literal pain-in-the-butt. I had my friend try it out and she immediately commented on the discomfort of sitting in the seat.
When I talked with the sales lady she agreed that some people have trouble with it and suggested I purchase a sheepskin seat cover. I had not budgeted to spend extra money as I expect a saddle to be usable as sold so I returned it and the experience cost me almost $140 for shipping that they would not refund.
This is a newer model where you can move the stirrups so the older models may be different.
Quality: Other than the design flaw making the saddle so uncomfortable to sit in, the leather and stitching were good but the leather is brushed so I did wonder about long term durability.
Summary: I would not suggest this saddle for anyone.
