Purchase: When I was in England about 20 years ago I went into a tack shop and spotted this Antill saddle on display. I sat in it and was convinced it was the saddle for me and my horse. Besides being beautiful it was comfortable and very well balanced. So I took a chance and bought it (for $500), packed it up in a large cardboard box, and dragged it onto a plane home. I got some weird looks, but managed to get it on board. Today I'm sure I could not have gotten it on the plane and would have had to ship it. It ended up being a perfect fit for my horse and he no longer had a sore back after a long ride. This was the best saddle I ever owned. It has a deep seat (16" I think), stirrups hang directly under my body, and is just plain comfortable. Sadly, I had to retire my horse and can no longer ride and now must sell it. Likes: Beautifully made, well balanced, large contact pads for the horse, very comfortable, deep seat.
Dislikes: Nothing.
Quality: Superb. All hand-made, one at a time. Sturdy.
Summary: This is the ultimate all-purpose saddle,both for the horse and the rider. I've had several English saddles and there is no comparison in quality and comfort.
