Dixieland Gaited Saddles
Plantation Lite Rider
Trail Saddles

Manufacturer: Dixieland Gaited Saddles
Model: Plantation Lite Rider
Category: Trail Saddles

Purchase: I ordered the Dixieland Gaited Saddle Plantation Lite Rider directly from Cynthia at Dixieland Saddles. The total price with additional add ons was $1512.00

Likes: I love this saddle! I first demoed one of their western Lite Rider saddles, as they had no demo of the Plantation Lite Rider. The western saddle was beautiful, nice leather, comfortable, strings in front and back, stainless steel fittings....everything that I wanted except it had a horn which I didn't want. After the demo, Cynthia, owner of Dixieland Saddles, sent me the saddle tree forms so I could make sure that the tree would fit my horses. I found the one that fit the best, took pictures to send to Cynthia for a final analysis, and ordered my tree. Cynthia was extremely helpful in completing my order. I had my trainer help me with the saddle tree forms, so that I was completely sure that I had the best fit. Cynthia went over my order with me, explaining all of the various accessories, she even suggested I get the Supracor seat, and I am so glad that I did! It is the most comfortable seat I have ever ridden in! When I received my saddle, it was beautiful. I had ordered a two-tone saddle, which cost a bit more....mahogany and black, but it is beautiful. The fleece on the bottom of the saddle is thick and beautiful. I ordered the western fenders, EZ ride stirrups, stirrup turners and the wool felt saddle pad that Dixieland makes to go with their saddles. I added a Delux Western Sheepskin Saddle Pad because I always ride with sheepskin to sit on as it is cool in Summer and warm in Winter and adds a bit of cush for my old butt! :-) My first ride exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. I felt as though I was gliding through the mountains on my horse because the saddle fit him and me perfectly! And the seating was so cushy and comfortable, I had truly found the perfect saddle for me and my horse. And as an added bonus, this tree fits all four of my horses who are all build differently....I was astounded and pleased! The leather stirrup turners are a must have. I have not had any issues getting my feet in the stirrups or any fatigue fighting new leather on the fenders to maintain my feet and legs in the correct position. The stirrup turners are beautiful leather matching the saddle and give my knees and feet the comfort they so longingly seek in a new saddle!

Dislikes: Absolutely nothing!

Quality: Construction is flawless and beautiful in every detail. I have not found a single thing that isn't perfect and I am an ogre for perfection!

Summary: This is the most perfect saddle I have ever owned for quality, price, comfort and fit for my horses and I have been through many many saddles. I cannot say enough good things about this saddle or the customer service that I received from Cynthia and her company. I have already ordered a second saddle because whenever the horse community completely discovers these saddles, it will be hard to get one and the price will no doubt go up! I have found Nirvana with this saddle! :-)
