Purchase: I purchased this saddle online at EBay through Frontier Equestrian for $229 in early 2012. This included stirrups, leathers, and saddle.
I have been trail riding for many many years and wanted to try something new...dressage.
I needed a saddle to start dressage lessons with and I did not want to invest a large amount of money.
Likes: The saddle fits my horse very well. The panels were a little stiff at first but have softened with a number of lessons.
My horse moves freely and comfortably.
The saddle fits me perfectly. It puts me in the correct position.
The nylon reinforced leathers are easy to adjust and numbered.
It is well constructed with quality materials.
And it is a good looking saddle.
Dislikes: The stirrup leather buckles could be a bit more recessed.
I could do without the nameplate on the cantle.
Quality: The leather is of nice quality and not too stiff.
This saddle is a classically balanced dressage saddle. This is not a fancy saddle but it certainly does the job.
Well constructed.
Quality hardware.
Looks good and feels good.
Summary: I was skeptical of a dressage saddle that was so inexpensive but I have to admit I am very happy with my purchase.
It does everything I need it to do for me and my horse.
I recommend purchasing through Frontier Equestrian as they are one of the only dealers that have a reasonable return policy and they are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
A well constructed, comfortable (for horse and rider), and pretty to look at dressage saddle that puts me in the correct position for $229 is well worth it.
