Purchase: I have a short backed Arab/ QH mare and primarily ride English. Saddle fit is a nightmare. She has very low wide withers and lateral movement is a big issue. I decided on the barefoot saddles after reading many happy reviews so wanted to add my own. I chose the Stella since it has a very traditional look. I paid 600 plus 45 shipping from a used tack website. It came with a nice barefoot pad.
Likes: I was a little concerned at first since it seemed stiff out the box and looked like it sat high on my horse. All my anxieties melted once I got it cinched down and was in the saddle. It just warmed up and molded to us both. I found that once the stirrups are adjusted properly and far forward there is no problem keeping your leg on the saddle. The barefoot pad was just the right size and seemed to help with stability. Just make sure to hop off after 5 minutes and re-tighten the cinch as I found the saddle compressed and became looser. I tried this on my friends 16H TB with prominent Narrow withers and There was plenty of clearance. If you're horse has some wither this saddle is completely stable.
Dislikes: Likes: very stable. More so then the dressage treed saddle.

Dislikes: Lateral Movement with the soft pommel insert on horses with round flat withers. This was reminded by buying the fiberglass wide. I added extra padding just under the gullet area as My mare is sensitive.
Quality: My saddle was 1 yr old and showed minimal wear on the billets. With only slight rubbing under the leathers. Flease leather covers have prevented any further ware.
The Drytex is slightly stiff but this seems to add some shape to the saddle.
The saddle is square and everything seems to be sametrical.
This is not a glorified bareback pad!
Summary: While no treeless Saddle can fit every horse this saddle has fit every horse I have tried it on. Lol the medium gullet piece has fit every horse so far, just not mine. GO FIGURE!
