Purchase: I had lost some weight and my wide calf Mountain Horse boots weren't fitting so I shopped around for regular calf boots. I found these online from a UK saddlery. I paid regular retail price. I decided on these because the feet looked less chunky than the High riders and they also came in short height.
Likes: The boots fit really well. great quality overall and the zip is very strong. I have had them for about 4 months now and I love them as my everyday boots. I can also hose my horse in them and not worry about getting them wet. I hope to have them for a long time.
Dislikes: They were difficult to break in. A Lot of bandaids were used on my ankles and I didn't like them at first. It took a few weeks, though not riding everyday. Also, these were my second pair due to sizing. I am a size 39.5 and I usually go up in Mountain Horse boots to 40, but these were huge and I had to sell them and get a size 39 which are a great fit in Terra Nova, but too small in other models.
Quality: Quality is typical of Mountain Horse boots. Strong zip, thick sole and reasonable quality leather. Chunky, but not wide chunky like the High Rider boots.
Summary: Overall a great quality pair of boots, hard wearing and tough for everyday use. If you get the right size and are patient with the breaking in process they are worth getting.
