Purchase: Let me start by saying I've been a ranching cowboy all my 59 years of life. My son is a 5th generation rancher on the property my GGFather homesteaded in 1878. I know and love good horses and good tack.
I purchase a 17" Wade saddle through Ebay in February 2012. I thought I was getting a real Martin saddle. Nope!
This was a pre-paid deal and they would build, guarantee my satisfaction and deliver in April. My "best offer" which they accepted was $790 + $60 freight for a total of $850.
Likes: Nothing----it was a piece of low quality workmanship made from junk leather. A terrible representation of a saddle. I would have been embarrassed to put it on my horse. I returned it immediately (same day) and paid another $60 in freight.
Dislikes: Workmanship was terrible. The horn cap wasn't trimmed after being sewn on, the stitching was irregular and uneven. The leather smelled and felt like plastic. I wondered if they had even shipped the right saddle.
Also shipment was delayed until late June....so 5 months after the order and all the spring riding is done...I get a junk saddle.

Summary: J C Martin Saddles took my money, continually delayed making and shipment of a saddle, sent me a piece of junk saddle made from inferior materials by inferior workmanship and then declined my numerous requests to refund my money. They mislead, delayed refunding and outright lied saying "the check was in the mail" until I finally received a $740 credit to my Paypal account. I spent $910 and got $740 back. I was told I was responsible for all the Paypla and Ebay fees incurred by JC Martin through the sale. I feel used and abused.
A ride I'll never take again!
