Purchase: The saddle was custom made for my horse. After a long journey to find a saddle that fits my big SSH, I literally stumbled across the reviews for the Sycamore Creek Saddles. Tony, the representative here in the U.S., helped me along in the saddle ordering process. He was very patient, which must have been hard, because by the time I seriously considered ordering a saddle I had never seen personally, I was very insecure.
But after many emails back and forth, I finally ordered my saddle for $500. I went with Tony's recommendation and could not be happier. It is a little different to do the double rigging, but I am starting to get the hang of it.
Likes: No more sore backs and rear sides for my horse or me. Love the saddle, the wonderful leather, and the comfort for my big guy and me. Thank you Tony!
Dislikes: The double rigging is not my favorite due to my beginning Arthritis in my hands. But that is surely not the fault of the saddle.
Quality: Made of wonderful soft leather, unlike the ones in the tack stores. Their leathers are usually very tough and stiff. CTK leather is soft and gorgeous. The seat is phenomenally comfortable due to the memory foam cushion built in, which is also on the underside of the saddle making it very comfy for the horse as well. Light in weight and easily hoisted onto horse.
Summary: To all owners of gaited horses, safe yourselves from buying very expensive saddles and order from Tony and Sycamore Creek Saddles.
