Purchase: I bought this saddle for $650 brand new at a tack auction that is held bi-annually with a large horse sale. I was looking for a new saddle for my husband and this was a eye catching saddle that would fit him and his horse.
Likes: Full rough out saddle, so its easy to keep up on the ranch, really nice quality saddle for the price. The leather is thick and supple and high quality. The saddle sits nice and deep, so its also great for riding colts. Its a very sturdy saddle that holds up.
Dislikes: I like real sheepskin under all of my saddles and this has fake lining, but almost all saddles have fake lining now. Other than that, I know Jim Sands is not well known, so resale value is not always high, but we like this saddle enough I don't think it will ever be leaving the place. Very rarely do you see them for sale.
Quality: High quality leather and craftsmanship. Holds up to rough use and still looks great.
Summary: Being able to buy this quality of a saddle for what I paid for it is awesome. They are very very nice saddles
