Purchase: I bought the Fabtron Cross Trail new in 2012 for an endurance saddle for my Appaloosa. I was looking for an affordable, lightweight endurance saddle that would fit a 15-3 hand appaloosa with a medium build. I bought it through a dealer and paid 995$. I did not purchase the matching accessories.
Likes: The Fabtron Cross Trail is a good quality, light weight saddle, the leather is decent quality. It fits my horse well and does not leave any sore spots. The seat with 5 inch cantle gives me a secure seat. The trail stirrups with cushioning are comfortable for the long endurance rides, and the stirrup position is comfortable for my knees. It has a crupper attachment if I should decide to use one.(which I haven't needed) The saddle has held up well in all weather conditions, the first endurance ride was pouring rain! I have used it on 9 endurance rides for 235 miles and 120 hours of conditioning rides and it is holding up well. My mare has always scored A's on her back with this saddle. The pad is vented and allows air flow to the back which helps on those long rides.
Dislikes: The cushioning on the stirrups is starting to compact and I may change them out at the end of the ride year. (there are a LOT of miles on them) I would definitely order the fitted saddle pad with the saddle. I tried it with other pads and it didn't really work well with any of them. I would like to have more d rings to attach things with.
Quality: The saddle is well made, the leather seems to be a decent quality and is holding up well under a lot of wear and tear.
Summary: I am very happy with my purchase of this saddle. It fits my horse well.
