Purchase: Emailed order form by copy and pasting from the Heritage website. Sent tracings & photos to Heritage via registered mail, per instructions. Saddle was US $1,525.10 with shipping
Likes: Well made saddle in terms of leather quality, stitching, cost is very good.
Dislikes: Tracing instructions are menial. Most saddlers require at least THREE tracings. Saddle slides side to side & is not the Wide I ordered. I had a master saddler (County Saddles Rep) out to check the saddle. Did not receive the wide tree I ordered; have to pay to get a saddler to fix it. Owner/saddler was emotional, angry & accusatory via our email interactions. Matt told PayPal mediator I had altered the emailed proving I ordered a wide tree. He said he went by tracings. I asked why he didn't email me if the order was a Wide tree and the tracings didn't call for a wide? A quick email and I would have re-done the tracings and re-sent them. Also, according to the instructions, the ONE tracing required does NOT even correlate to being able to determine tree size! (I have all the emails including the original order) Owner/Saddler said he'd alter the saddle if I paid shipping both ways. This would be around $500-$600!
Quality: Great leather, construction & quality POOR FIT. I ordered a Wide tree and received an XW/XXW. Ordered black piping & received white (I don't really care about this, but come on; why have an order form if it is not going to be followed? Owner/saddler is unprofessional: can not admit to an error, takes things personally, becomes accusatory, angry and uncompromising and will change his story. BE WARNED! Tracing instructions are not up to industry standard. Search "do saddle tracing" or something similar to that and you will see that 3-4 tracings, photos, and plenty of additional information is required, whereas Heritage Bespoke asks for ONE tracing and some pictures.
Summary: Don't send tracings. Just order your saddle per the order form on the website (seat size, tree size, etc) minus tracings and photos. Pay the $1500 for the saddle and then prepare to have it altered to your horse by your own master saddler. Make certain you have a saddler willing to work with a "no name" saddle. Some saddlers will and some won't. Find out what it will cost you and be sure it won't end up costing you more to buy it through Heritage versus buying a demo, used or new saddle here in the US.
