Purchase: We own and operate a therapeutic riding center. When reviewing options available for materials suitable for our indoor arena we came across a product called EquiTread. It was advertised on the bags of bedding we use. It is initially expensive at about $200.00 per ton, but it makes up for that by being virtually maintenance free in the long run.
Likes: It is a recycled product made out of old tires. It is virtually dust free, which is a plus because some of our students have respiratory problems. It does not break down, need maintenance other than periodic raking and watering and looks neat in appearance nearly all the time. We could not have made a better choice for our arena bedding and have highly recommended this product to other interested parties. Several visitors to the center are amazed at the product and its versatility.
Dislikes: I can not indicate anything I do not like about it.
Quality: The overall construction or constitution of the product is simple; recycled tires. The steel belting is removed prior to making the final product. This is a big consideration as metal shards can cause untold damage to horse and or rider. Many competitive products out there do not remove the steel belting before making the final product.
Summary: However, the best thing I like about EquiTread, especially is if you fall...YOU BOUNCE!!
