Purchase: I purchased the pad from the Valley Vet and paid $74.95. The pad comes with a girth. This was my second purchase, as I had worn the first pad down after a couple of years of frequent riding.
Likes: I like the pad very much. I have the brown version and the color complements my dark chocolate brown horse wonderfully. It has a nice secure fit and suede-like material keeps you on the horse, even if he spooks sideways in high speed.
Dislikes: I do not see any flaws. I must admit though, I do put a 1' wool pad under it for more padding, as my horse is high withered and has somewhat bony back. He seems to prefer it that way, too.
Quality: It is a well constructed bareback pad. Unlike many other bareback pads, it is cut back and curved to accommodate withers and follow the spine's curvature. The material is all man-made. I prefer natural materials, such as cotton or wool, against my horse's back. That is another reason I put a wool pad underneath.
Summary: I have searched high and low and this is the best bareback pad I could find on the market.
