Likes: I purchased my Barnsby Omega used in December of 2012. It was purchased used at just over one year old and was amazing to ride in with the very first ride.
Being shall we say a more mature rider I was looking first of all for a saddle that would fit my longer withered Quarter Horse and one that would fit me the way I need it to.
For me this saddle was perfect on all counts. It fits my horse as if it was made specifically for him and gives me the comfort I was craving in a new saddle. I have always had a tendency to pitch forward a tad on me knee when jumping, a terrible terrible habit I am diligently trying to improve every day so for me the larger knee blocks and extremely well padded flap are perfect. I also love the deep seat this model offers as well. My horse is still a tad green and with him having his "greenie" moments from time to time I find the deeper seat allows me to ride with more confidence, knowing I can stay in there and ride it thru. Being wool flocked as well gives us the added ability to have the saddle adjusted in the event it needs to be, something I didn't have with my previously foam flocked saddle. Having said all of that the improvement it has shown in my horse's movement has been unbelievable. He is now able to move forward from his shoulder and hind end without the fear of his saddle pinching or restricting his motion. That for me is worth everything.
The quality of the leather is to me fantastic and I know I will have this one for the ages. I have an expert saddle fitter that specializes with Barnsby and Peter Petherick of Barnsby saddles visits the area at least once per year if not twice so I have access to the very best in case I have any question. All in all for me this saddle is everything and more I could have wanted.
Dislikes: There really isn't anything I don't like at this point. I have been completely happy with it.
Quality: Solid construction tree, wool flocked with preformed knee blocks and padded flap.
Summary: For us this saddle has been worth every penny.
