Purchase: Talking with my local devoucoux rep, we found this used Chiberta for just over $2500. It was ordered off the website and was shipped to me with a nice thick cover and in a seemingly indestructible barrel! I had been looking to invest in something new but stated up front I did not have millions to spend.
Likes: First, I loved how the saddle was shipped to me. Covered in a thick fleece lined cover and sent in a barrel. I was later told you that the method of shipment helps keep the saddles' shape while in transit. The saddle was used, but devoucoux has a master saddler check out each unit before they are put out on the market ensuring the buyer that they are not purchasing a damaged product! The saddle is in fantastic condition, fit my horse, and is the absolute comfiest thing out there! My local rep helped me decide on what panels, flap size and seat size would best suit me and my horse and did not disappoint. She even went the extra mile to come out and look at the saddle once it arrived and cleaned it for me. With the options devoucoux has between flap sizes, seat sizes, leather and color choices, there is something for everyone!
Dislikes: The only thing I dislike about this saddle is when it did arrive, there were some funny water spots on the cantle. My local rep quickly cleaned them out with some of their nice lederbasalm.
Quality: These saddles are fantastic. I wasn't too keen on the foam panels, but my local rep gave me some samples of the foam and explained why they use foam in great detail, which sold me. My Chiberta has buffalo leather, which is tough as nails and the stickiest thing ever! It has saved my butt on some bucking broncos already and I have had it for a little over a week. Devoucoux also has a trade in program for when you think your saddle has almost bit the dust. They revamp your old saddle and sell it, and give you a discount on your new upgrade!
Summary: I would recommend this saddle to anyone. I was surprised at how devoucoux could make it into my budget, impressed with the kindness of their representatives, and amazed at their craftsmanship.
