Likes: As soon as I removed the saddle from the shipping box I knew I had purchased a high quality saddle. The leather is so very soft, and it's the type of leather that requires no breaking in period. The seat is wonderfully comfy and the rigging allowes for two different cinch positions which I like because I can use this saddle on all of my horses, even my donkey. I purchased the wide. The first time I rode my Missouri Fox Trotter in it, he took to it like bees to honey. He even did a running walk that he has never done before. Very even sweat pattern.
Dislikes: There is not one thing I dislike about this saddle. It's heavier than your regular treeless saddles at about 27 lbs. But, saying that, it's very stable and sturdy on my horses. ALSO, it has a nice narrow twist and does NOT make you feel like you are riding bareback. The saddle fenders don't put you in a chair position, but they aren't too far back either. They are just right. I love this saddle, if you are into treeless saddles, this one is well worth a try. And if you buy one and decide it's not for you for some reason, they will hold their value pretty darn well.
Quality: It is a high quality saddle, Circle Y really outdid themselves with this treeless. In my opinion, it is a much better saddle than the Bob Marshall Treeless Saddle which, without any twist whatsoever, really spreads your legs wide like you're riding bareback. For us middle aged women and older, not such a comfortable position to be in.
Summary: Bottom line? A great saddle that is well made, gorgeous and my horses all love it. Very even sweat patterns. I used it on my 16hh MFT, my 14.1hh Arabian and my 11.3hh donkey. I recommend purchasing the wide tree-you can always use a thicker pad for your higher withered horse. I have ridden in the following treeless saddles, owning them all:
