Purchase: I fell in love with pictures of this saddle online. It was in demo condition and looked like it would fit my round barreled mare. I've heard so many good things about Black Country over the years and finally had the chance to afford one. I paid $3200 for it (they go for over $4,000 elsewhere).
Likes: This saddle is buttery soft DIVINE! It smells great (the leather) and the design is very thoughtful of horse and rider. It is monoflap and I love how I can "feel" my mare's movement while we're "dancing". She is very picky about saddles and lets me KNOW when she doesn't like them ;) She LOVES this one!
Dislikes: This was my first monoflap saddle. You do have to make sure (especially if the saddle is newer) that you tighten the girth appropriately. I thought I had. I almost slipped off when mounting. Check your girth adjustment with those monoflap billets frequently!
Quality: Construction is AWESOME! Buttery soft, grippy, yet sturdy high quality leather, Made in England. This saddle does put all the other high end saddles to shame in design and comfort. The wool is so soft and pliable, the freedom hoop tree is spacious for my horse's large shoulders. It's a lightweight saddle, not heavy to carry at all. I had to take several looks at it to believe it was real! :p
