Purchase: Bought it over 20 years ago from the Nelson dealer at the Equine Affair in Columbus, OH. No clue what I paid for it.

Likes: It's just about maintenance free. The water bowl needs cleaned occasionally, particularly in the summer when it tends to grow green slime. It is very sturdy, and not prone to damage. The heater uses just enough power to keep the water from freezing, although it is still quite cold. I used it for over 20 years with no problems at all.

Dislikes: None. This is a fine unit and the closest thing to maintenance free that you will ever be able to buy.

Quality: Extremely well made. Most of it is stainless steel. All the fragile parts, such as the heating element are safely hidden under the bowl where the horses can't get to them.

Summary: I plan to purchase a new one shortly, as I have recently moved. A note on the review that notes that it does not have a water reservoir, if you hook it up to a central water supply, i.e. city or county provided water, you won't have this problem.
