Purchase: I don't own this saddle yet. I've been using a friends as a test "drive" before my purchase. I was just looking at SLT from this site and they have it listed for $1619.99. I have about $1500 saved so far so it's not long now!
Likes: My first saddle was bought used, it was a Crosby and I liked it. But I do have to say after riding in this Pessoa the last few weeks, I'm sold! Both the woman whose saddle this is and I are about 5'9" and have long legs. She had bought this because the stadium flap is longer and deeper, perfect for us. The knee pads are set a bit higher as well giving more support. The leather is soft and comfortable and I'm in love.
Dislikes: Price. I've been saving for about 6 months now as not to charge a new saddle. Maybe once I have my own I'll be more critical and update this review!
Quality: The SLT site says the following: Built on a new tree that improves the direct communication between horse and rider by reducing the interference felt by the rider. The Stadium flap is longer and deeper-perfect for the longer legged rider or the show jumper that rides with a more forward leg. Rather than a knee roll that may constrict the show jumping rider, the sculpted knee pads are higher and more supportive than any other Pessoa saddle. The seat and padded flaps are made from French buffalo leather. Oakbark. Made in Argentina. ** Don't knock the Argentine saddles! I've never had problems with them!
Summary: I am feeling like a kid on Christmas with this one - just want to say that I would recommend this saddle to anyone looking for a quality jumping saddle!
