Purchase: Heard about the elastic neck after searching on Chronicle of the Horse Forums for a good fitting turnout rug. I bought the turnout and sheet from the manufactures website. I spent $190 for both the rug and sheet. They also have a neck protector for $49,
Likes: The turnout fits perfect around the neck, withers and chest. Most turnouts rubbed my mare in the withers and when she put her head down to eat they were too tight around the front and pulled on the withers and were tight in the shoulders. I absolutely think this is the best design for comfort and the elastic neck forms to their neck blocking out wind, cold air and water. The straps are all elastic for comfort too. The material is very nice for both the 1200 denier 300 fill turnout and the stable sheet which comes in 100 or 200 fill. I got the 100 fill. I plan to order the 1680 denier no fill Rain turtle and 200 fill stable sheet next season. The sheets can be used under the rugs so there are a lot of choices for warmth and weather with this line. They send extra straps and over the wither fleece liners. The company is very easy to deal with. I have a hard to fit mare and they sent items to me several times. The shipping is very fast. If they don't have it in stock they will let you know and if in stock the delivery was by Thursday when ordered on Monday from Texas to CT.
Dislikes: I like everything.
Quality: If I had a horse that was tough on rugs and sheets I would have ordered the 1680 denier. My mare is easy on everything and the barn doesn't turnout in rain or sleet so the 1200 was fine for me. She is a short 14 hand mare and long and chunky. She wore a 76 in the rug and I had to get a 78 for the sheet. I'm not sure why the sheets ran smaller.
Summary: If you don't like traditional blankets that seem to choke your horses in the under neck or are tight in the withers this is the oerfect blanket. I tried the Rambo and the Schneiders vfit and vtek and they were all way to tight.
