Purchase: I paid $2000 for a new saddle that was supposed to be custom made for my Spanish, gaited horse.
Likes: The saddle is comfortable for me; however painful for my horse.
Dislikes: The saddle is actually made on quarter horse bars which was not disclosed initially by kuda. Im told kuda used to have the trees made in columbia, but because of costs he now uses quarter horse trees. These trees rock on my horse and have caused such pain it lead to bucking and dangerous rides. Kuda would not back their saddle and allow me to return it (it had been 60 days instead of their 30 day policy) and although he told a friend he would search for a substitute saddle for me, he did not. He also said he would try to sell the saddle for me and when I follow up his reply is that he thought I already sold the saddle. Clearly he is not going to help me resell it and doesn't care because he already has his $2000.00.
Quality: The materials are just OK, fake fleece, hard leather, but tolerable. A Latigo showed up cut up upon arrival.
Summary: Do not buy a Kuda saddle unless you want to wait for over 3 months, be dismissed when you raise concerns (such as acknowledging the measurements provided), and receive harassment for raising awareness of the poor treatment and final product. Its not worth it when there are excellent saddlemakers who will back their work and know horses.
