Purchase: I bought this in a local tack shop about 5 years ago; I think I paid about $45.00, which is a lot less than they are going for these days.
Likes: Okay, I'm not prone to get excited about girths, but this is my favorite girth EVER! I bought a Stubben which I returned because I didn't like it as well as this one. The leather is flexible and supple, and cleans up beautifully. It has held up well to a whole lot of use, never showing any cracking of the leather, and the stitching is perfect. It looks like a much nicer brand.
Dislikes: The elastic is that light, yellowish beige color which has gotten visably dirty. I wish it had a darker color elastic. Also, the thin overlying leather strip used to be more of a reddish or oakbark color (matching my oakbark saddle), and now the whole thing has darkened to a dark havana.
Quality: After many uses, everything is still in great condition. The roller buckles work well and show no rusting, the leather is in great shape, and the stitching is perfect. I do, however, suspect the elastic has stretched out over time, because although it still measures 48, it seems to fit more big horses than my other 48".
Summary: Really, this is one of the few pieces of tack I own that I have never had a complaint with. For a no-nonsense, cheap girth, it is the BEST!
