Purchase: This herbal feed supplement can be found at: www:earthangelherbs.com. I ordered from them online, a 4 month supply is $179.00 and a 2 month supply is $109.00. Both prices are before shipping. I had done some research and consulted my vet about different methods used to try and treat equine melanomas and this seemed like a good option.
Likes: My horse has been on this supplement for 5 months now and I am seeing some positive results. Progress is slow but the tumors under his tail are slowly shrinking and sloughing off, and the ones on his jaw are starting to shrink. He is a 10 year old gray gelding with many melanomas on the underside of his tail, around his anus, in his sheath, behind his jawbone, and around the corners of his mouth where the bit sits. His condition has progressed rapidly over the last 3-4 years and I am worried it will be too late if I don't try something now.
Dislikes: So far there is nothing I am displeased about. Even the price breaks down to roughly $50.00 a month which is not bad.
Quality: The herbal supplement comes in a plastic bucket with ration scoop (like most supplements) and must be administered with the AM and PM feeding. The schedule is to feed the supplement for 20 days and then take 5 days off. This is to help the body learn to heal itself without relying solely on the herbs. This will also allow the horse to discontinue daily use of the supplement once the condition has been healed. It is VERY important to follow the feeding recommendations. This is the key to success with this product.
Summary: If you are interested in this product, the best source of information is on the Earth Angel Herbs website. I am encouraged to continue using this product since I have noticed positive results. My horses' health has been good and if anything has actually improved on this supplement. I have had no negative reactions with his other supplements, Source and Activex and the occasional dose of bute. Check out the site and talk with your vet, maybe this can help your gray horse, too! ( the only reason I have given this product a 4 out of 5 is because my horse is still undergoing the treatment and is not completely healed, yet.)
