Purchase: I purchased the new Horseware Rambo Duo turnout rug in the saddlery in the neighbourhood. It cost a bit more than 300 EUR.
I wanted a high quality turnout rug being able to be used the whole season (so autumn, winter and spring).
The rug has also to be used as stable rug.
Quite an impossible mission isn't it ?
But the Rambo Duo fullfilled all my requirements !!!
Likes: First of all, we all know the quality of the Horseware rugs and especially the Rambo serie.
But, the problem is in the most case the price and the fact that the rugs are sometimes too warm for the autumn or the spring.
The Rambo Duo has a very good system of waterproof rug (turnout) of 100gr filling and an underblanket of 300gr filling.
It means that you can use the same rug as 100gr or as 400gr. It means that you can use it the whole season.
They said me in the saddlery that new underblanket will come next year with other filling. It will then be better because it means that I will have 3 different possibilities.
I also tried to put it into my machine to wash it and it goes well by the fact that you can separate the outside rug of the underblanket and wash them separately.
For me it is a big advantage because I don't have to give my rug for professional wash anymore, I can just wash it by myself (I bought the Rambo Wash product).
The rug is a real turnout meaning that it stays in place, also when the horse is "playing" in the field.
Dislikes: The only less point is the price.
But by the fact that you can regulate the warmth of the rug by using the underblanket or not, it is like to have 2 rugs for the price of one.
Also, I had another Rambo turnout before and the quality is so good that you can use them much longer than other rugs.
So the price has to be seen like an investment.
Quality: Very good material quality.
The closures are good and resistant.
Summary: It is a very good rug and the price is worthwile.
