Purchase: I bought this from the manufacturer at www.equinedirect.net I paid 104.50 for a 10lb. pail, I believe it is a 80 day supply in a nice re-sealable pail. Their product looks cool too!
Likes: I was supplementing many things for my 7 year old warmblood. He has a sensitive stomach, poor hooves and soreness at times of heavy work. I have tried lots and lots of supplements, trying to figure out what combo is the best and what he'll eat, oh he's a fussy eater too! Someone at my barn was raving about a supplement that she got from a trainer in Florida and he swore by the effectiveness, she had been on it for about a month and said she saw an improvement with her mare. I compared ingredients and did some research and also called the manufacturer who was very helpful and I thought really knowledgeable. I could tell he knew horses. I have been able to give up the 3 supplements I was using by using the Direct Complete. It's a powder form but it has Rice Bran so my horse seems to eat it fine. I have seen a drasitic improvement in my guy and I found I'm not over supplementing in areas like copper which can be tocxic if given to much and most supplements alone have this so if you were like me, I had three different supplements and I think I was over doing it in some minerals due to this fact. I paid $104.50 for a 10 lb. pail and I think they now have this with Hylaronic acid in the mix too! I would give it a try if you need a great supplement for a performance type horse.
Dislikes: I wish it was made in bigger units but I guess they have re-fill foil bags for the pails so I will buy those next time around, and they are cheaper.
Quality: This is a quality product with clear labeling instructions and ingredients which I like. I like the packaging in the hinged pails and knowing you can buy direct.
Summary: If you are looking for quality nutritional products, I would try Equine Direct. You are buying from the manufacturer so you know they aren't just a marketing company and they seem to know horses. They don't have a huge number of products but they all seem to be on the upper end as far as quality and ingredients. They also make some other grooming products but I haven't tried those yet. In closing, my order was done over the internet after calling them, the service was prompt, the web site was slick and I got my product quickly, and the price was far less then the cost I was currently paying to supplement my horse.
