Purchase: I purchased a pair of medium black SMB II boots(Professionals Choice) for my horses front legs. I purchased them used from a women on Ebay.com. I needed protection from knocking the legs of my horse during spins(reining). I payed $15.00 for the pair..but they usually run $65.00 new.
Likes: I personally like the design of this boot and how it looks on a horse. It prevented alot of damage that could have been done during my reining practice. It supports the legs, but it wont cut off curculation no matter how tight you close the wraps. Its comfortable on my horse and doesnt show signs of wear on my horses legs. The velcro wraps never pull off while riding. Also, it doesnt restrict the movement by doing anything in any direction.
Dislikes: I dont like the velcro wraps on the boot. The ends frey and the stitching that holds the wraps on the boot come undone. Also, the felt outside layer of the boot makes it attract debree from the outside.
Quality: These boots are generally tough. The outside layer is made with felt while the inside is a sturdy nylon. The boot is easy to clean, even by hand. It never loses its shape or bends. The velcro straps seem a little flimsy and do end up falling apart(freying and the stitching comes undone). It supports the legs well on a horse and holds up nicely during riding.
Summary: This is the best brand of boot on the market at the moment. Its a sturdy boot with lots of protection added in for your horses legs. The boot keeps up nice and is easy to clean. It allows free movement of the legs and doesnt act like an extremeley stiff splint. It protects both the front and back legs from any activity. It can be used for all disciplines without taking away the movement. Overall, its a nice boot.
