Purchase: I acquired this product from a local tack shop. I paid about $4 for it. I was looking for a nice saddle soap that I could use on my new saddle, and thought that this product might do well.
Likes: This product really worked well. It soaked into the saddle fairly well. I didn't have to wet my sponge if I didn't want to, but it didn't spread terribly well with a dry rag. It doesn't take too much rubbing to get it to but in, and gives the saddle a nice shine. When used with a wet sponge, it REALLY takes the crud off your saddle, and did a great job softening old, stiff leather.
Dislikes: The soap comes in either yellow or black. I bought the yellow. Whenever I clean my saddle, unless I really scrub there is a slight yellow residue left. And, no matter how well you shine, there is a pattern left on your saddle where you cleaned and just rubbed the soap around. Also, when left in a hot tack room, the soap shriveled and pulled away from the can. The can is annoying to open, it tends to be a bit difficult.
Quality: This soap comes in a black can with yellow writing. It is small and metal. The can has held up well, with little rust, but can be a bit difficult to open.
Summary: Overall, this soap does a decent job, but I doubt I'll buy it again.
