Purchase: I bought the black/black International ATH helmet online for about $130 when I needed a new helmet. I wanted to purchase a GPA, but they were way out of my price range so I settled with the IRH version.

Likes: I like the look of theses helmets and the fact they come in the individual sizes. I have a hard to fit head that is right in between the mediums and the larges in the plastic schooling helmets. These helmets are a little more attractive than the plastic helmets, and I like that I can use it in shows when I don't want my velvet helmet to get rained on. Also, they are very padded on the inside (especially compared to the plastic helmets) and the padding is adjustable.

Dislikes: I don't like the fit of these helmets. They are made for a very round head and mine is more oval. I also don't like that the fact that they collect a lot dust when you ride so you constantly have to clean them. Another dislike is the chinstrap doesn't stay adjusted very well. I find that I constantly have to tighten it. Also, the helmet's vents are supposed to keep you cooler, but I don't feel any difference between it and my velvet show helmet.

Quality: These helmets are very well made. They don't scratch or show wear easily. Mine had held together very well and still looks new.

Summary: If you have a rounder head and like this style of helmet, they are wonderful and I would highly recommend them. Why pay three times as much for a GPA if these fit and offer the same protection? However, if you have a more oval head I would say pass on this one. It may not protect your head like it should in fall because it wont fit properly. Either try their oval model or spring for a GPA.
