Jumping Saddles

Manufacturer: Bruno Delgrange
Model: Partition 4A flaps and front + rear blocks
Category: Jumping Saddles

Purchase: I bought this saddle off of eBay as a demo for only $2160- including shipping!!! Fantastic deal, as I saw well used PJs for $2800 at a horse show at the horse park in KY The Partition is the European version of the PJ, but it has a flap design that allows more closeness with the horse.

Likes: Awesome quality in construction! This saddle will last forever! The saddle is very grippy and holds my position very well over fences. I even used it on XC without any problems. Balance is effortless in ANY stirrup length, as I rode lower-level dressage in it too. My horse strided out well in it. The french grain on the flaps was as sticky as calf leather!!!

Dislikes: Heavy. I had the Royal Rider plastic stirrups and it was still heavy- at least 15lbs- probably more like 17lbs. Also, the tree did not fit my horse and the pommel sat too low, but I have a very hard to fit mare. Foam panels meant I had to get another saddle, and I was sad!!! The french calf seemed to scratch very easily too, but this is cosmetic.

Quality: The best I have seen yet. I have owned, or used for a period of time: County XTR, BdH, Collegiate, Antares, Pessoa. No joke, these saddles are definitely built to last!!! These are well worth the money! I know they are expensive (about $3500-$3700 new), but they are worth it compared to other saddles. Much better crafted than an Antares- the tree is more accommodating for the rider!

Summary: Expensive, but well worth it. They hold their resale incredibly well! Everyone who rode in my saddle LOVED it, and I resold it for a $500 profit! If you want a deep-seated jumping saddle, look at these! I would say that the med tree is a little on the wide side- a little wider than the Antares med- so you warmblood riders with high-withers will find this saddle fits like a custom!
