Purchase: I received this saddle from a friend of my sister's who was going to law school. It was an older saddle that she's had since she was a teen. I have no idea what the retail would be, she gave it to me for free.
Likes: It was a great saddle, which I used for almost ten years until it was so obvious that I couldn't fit into the 16" seat that my trainer told me I couldn't ride in it anymore (darned be my fat behind!). It had great balance, super close contact, made with very flat flaps, excellent quality leather, and a nice narrow twist. It was very sturdy too... A friend was borrowing it to hack a school horse who flipped over when she went to mount. The saddle survived with the tree still solid and intact and just a small tear on the cantle. I'm not sure if they make them like this anymore :)
Dislikes: The only thing I can really think of is that the seat was fairly hard and didn't have much padding. I didn't notice until I started riding in other people's Butet's and Antares.
Quality: Extremely well made, with great balance. As stated above, this saddle survived having a small Thoroughbred flip backwards onto it with nothing more than a small tear in the leather at the cantle.
Summary: It was a great saddle. I don't know if Crump Co's are made as good now as they were when this saddle was made, but it was certainly one of the best saddles I've ever owned. It was very similar in feel and design to the older Crosby's I've ridden in.
