Manufacturer: Blue Ridge Saddlery
Model: Barrel Saddle
Category: Barrel Saddles
Purchase: When I first decided to try barrel racing I bought this saddle, about 4 years ago. It was only $350 or so, from Chicks Saddlery.
Likes: The rough out and sweels were nice and really held me in. It's light weight too.
Dislikes: As most new saddles go, the leather was really stiff and the stirrups leathers stretched way to unevenly. I ended up changing them. The horn wasn't very smooth or comfortable to hold. I didn't feel very comfortable in the saddle though it did hold me in. And I don't recommend it if your horse uses a narrow saddle, it's made for a stockier horse.
Quality: If you looked close, you could tell it was a lesser expensive saddle. The tree seemed good. I had a friend who bought the same saddle at the same time because we started together, but her tree broke in 2 places after about 2 years. Mine was fine.
Summary: For the price, it wasn't that bad. I realized after betting better at barrel racing that you get what you pay for, and it did.
Usefulness Rating: 2.8 out of 5.
