Purchase: I bought these horse treats for the first time about a month ago. They were a new product at the local feed / farm supply store.
I paid $3.00 (in Canadian funds) for a 226g package.
Likes: These treats are just the right size to fit in a pocket or in your hand. Both of our horses love them and they make a great reward for training sessions.
Dislikes: Haven't found anything to dislike yet!
Quality: The treats are described on the package as "oven baked the old fashioned way, using only the finest natural ingredients, and are FREE of artificial colorings, flavorings and preservatives! Our treats are always crunchy, fresh and delicious!"
Unlike a lot of cookie-type horse treats, these don't crumble very much so there are more whole treats to give and less dust at the bottom of the bag - though they are easy for our horses to chew.
Ginger Ridge makes 3 flavors of this treat: Anise Orange Spice Super Stars, Wholesome Grain Harvest Hearts and Peppermint Fresh Meadow Mints.
Summary: Ginger Ridge makes an awesome line of horse treats.
We find that they smell so good, it's almost tempting to take a bite for ourselves! We haven't done that yet, but our horses absolutely love them.
Definately a winner!
