Purchase: I bought this saddle about a year ago from a woman who was selling it because it was not wide enough for her WB. I paid $1000 for it.
Likes: This is THE most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden in! The seat is both deep and wide, making for a secure position while riding. The gullet is wide enough that it allows enough space for the spine, which makes my horse very happy.
Dislikes: While not an issue for me, the pommel is not a cut-back, so it would not fit a horse with really high withers. The seat is also quite deep, so some riders would not like that (but i do!).
Quality: This saddle has held up very well for me in the time that I have had it. It is built on a spring tree and is quite light in weight. The finishing and leather are top-notch.
Summary: Were I in need of another saddle for any purpose, I would look first to Berney Brothers. I believe thier quality and comfort stacks up against any saddle maker out there. For my money, they are absolutely the best!
