Purchase: Equine.com is where I found it for sale from a woman living in MI state. I paid only $1000 (can you believe it?)- well worth $2000
Likes: Very comfortable saddle for me and my horse. I have a very hard to fit mare and this saddle fits her nearly perfect. I will have to have the front flocked a little, but the saddle is 10 years old and looks 1 year old! The closeness is good enough for me to feel but not get thrown into the air when she extends. The knees are well positioned- gives support but not a locked-in feeling.
Dislikes: Must know your seat size! I ride in a 17.5 deep seat for jumping and my dressage is a 18.5! To say the least they run big! The main dislike is that it requires a 3 buckle girth and they are very hard to find! I have only found 2 makers- one is horrible leather and style and the other is County- good manufacturer, but no choices!
Quality: Fabulous! All the stitching is still good and tight and the flaps show very little wear. The only wear is on the pommel, where the leather is thinning next to the stitching. Seat and panels are still very soft, and have great wool flocking. Black leather is still black!
Summary: Awesome dressage saddle- well worth the money. New models are monoflap which is even better!
Cannot beat Devoucoux's customer service- it is the best in the business!
Awesome leather, design, construction, and attention to detail make this a sure buy!
