Purchase: I attended the Equine affair in 2004 and my goal was to find a saddle I could purchase in the spring of 2005. I sat in this reinsman saddle that is made just for Stagecoast West/Eqine USA in Irving, NY. I paid 1399.00 plus tax and shipping (only 25.00).
Likes: What I liked the best about this saddle is the seat was so comfortable I first sat in it for 15 min in November and in March I still remembered how comfortable it was!! After spending all winter looking for a new saddle I contacted Stagecoast West/Equine USA over the phone. I special ordered the fenders to be shorter for my short legs, They did it!! The saddle comes in Coffee only...but the seat is black and all my other tack is black, So to make the saddle match my tack they changed all the latigo straps to black!! Without even getting a second feel for the saddle 8 months later I get my saddle...and I LOVE IT. There was no breaking in period. The leather is so soft my first long ride was a 20 mile ride and my horse and I felt as if we had the saddle for years. We put over 300 comfortable miles in this saddle in 7 months. And many more to go!! This saddle I think has helped me better balance myself because it being an endurance saddle it has no horn. So I have to rely on myself when the going gets rough. I feel I am a better rider this year because of the saddle. I also love that it has a western look..not an english look.
Dislikes: Not much I don't like about the saddle..it can be a few pounds lighter. You have to realize with this being an endurance saddle but with a western look the rigging is a little different. You have to use a much shorter cinch. I learned that after purchasing and returning 4 cinches...
Quality: You couldn't ask for better construction. This saddle is worth every dollar you spend. This is a top of the line saddle.
Summary: I went back to my old saddle after a few months to ride in the ocean..and I thought to myself..I don't think I will ever ride without my reinsman again!! The comfort is unsurpassed!!
I would recommend this saddle to anyone who wants a saddle they can spend hours and miles in and not get sore. I had to use stirrup straights in my old saddle..not in the reinsman. I have no knee or ankle pain at all!! It was the best piece of Tack I have ever bought and I can tell it will be an heirloom!
