Purchase: I bought these leathers at the local tack shop for $52.00. They were the softest leathers in stock at the time.
Likes: I liked the color of brown (havana), the style which is smooth with crimped edges on top side, but no stitching along the edges, just at the top buckle. Leather is soft and supple.
Dislikes: The edges, though rubbed and finished, scratched my saddle flaps. My saddle flaps are soft leather and these leathers may be fine for a hard surface flap. Scratches buffed out with conditioner, but I had to change these out after one month to another set, only $25 more, that have smooth edges. Also, I noticed surface cracking of the finish where the irons hang.
Quality: These had everything I was looking for: flat buckles, triple stitching at buckle, smooth finish on top side, lots of numbered holes punched oval and beveled, and good color of brown. Soft, supple leather. I did run my hand along the edges and they seemed smooth enough. There wasn't another more expensive pair in stock to compare the edges.
Summary: These should only be used on hard surface saddle flaps.
