Purchase: Ebay. Paid $55. 22" girth. New.
Likes: The 2 girth buckles are the same piece of webbing, so it looks like a V. When you pull up on one buckle, the other drops. I have seen these before and liked them. It is just like the elastic but without actually "giving" as elastic does. This also means that it will hold up much better. It has rollers on the buckles.
It is padded with a mildew/mold resistant material. The padding itself feels like gel.
I like that there is material behind the buckles that is high enough to accommodate one buckle pulled as high as it will.
Dislikes: The material on the horse feels a little rough- not that it would chafe, necessarily, but perhaps not as comfortable. I guess I could throw a sheepskin cover over it though. I wish it had elbow relief like some of the newer girths do.
The type of material is a little slick so the girth slips some.
Quality: Seems well made and like it will last. Synthetic tack usually lasts a long time. I like that though went into the padding and the V system. It compliments my V billet system dressage saddle perfectly.
The Professional's Choice SMx girths are about the same price, and I like the actual girthing part of this better.
Summary: A nice synthetic choice.
Good for horses that tend to feel bound by some regular girths when you want/need to have the girth tight.
V design allows more freedom than the traditionally styled girths.
