Purchase: I bought this from an online store (Adam's Pet Supplies, I think).
I got 25lbs for $140 with shipping. This will last my 2 horses (one competing eventer and a weanling) for about 7-8 months. (I did cut down from the recommended dosage)
Figuerola was recommended to me by the breeder of my weanling- she spends the money to use it on all of the horse's at her farm because she says it is ultimately worth it!
Likes: It is truly an all-in-one supplement. It has joint support PLUS LYSINE (crucial for joint health, esp in a developing horse), multivitamins, minerals, hoof support, immune support, coat conditioners (it is a flax-based meal). It is palletable too!
Source and Ultrafire made my eventer really hot, this does not. Some days she even goes like a hunter! The effects on the foal are to be seen, but so far so good. My competing mare is not stiff coming out of the stall (we only have very limited indoor turnout, unfortunately). She moves as well as she did after she was given Legend. She is a stall kicker (chains do not help) and I do what I can to avoid costly joint injections. Aside from Corta-Flex, this stuff works and my horses are healthy!!!
I have heard that their line of supplements is top-notch from friends/acquaintances who have used it.
Dislikes: The amount the manufacturer says to feed ~1 cup per day, so that 25lbs lasts about 6 months for 1 horse and less if you are competing.
I guess no supplement is cheap, and for what it delivers, I guess it is actually inexpensive.
Quality: Palatable and effective- I am sold on the Figuerola products!
Summary: Worth the price, especially if it means a healthier, happier horse and less vet bills!
