Purchase: I got this saddle at State Line Tack, and I bought it for something like $620. I needed a lighter saddle for my small arabian, as we were moving up into the 50 mile division in endurance races. I was using a bulky western/endurance saddle, and this seamed like a good option.
Likes: It has a broad back, and distributes weight pretty evenly for an english saddle. It is nice to ride in, and has no-slip material around the stirrup. It's like riding almost in velcro there is so much friction. You're definitely NOT coming off in this saddle!
Dislikes: Because of the friction in the material, this would be a terrible saddle for anyone who jumps, or has a horse with a rough trot. About a month into owning this saddle, at about where your stirrups end contact with the saddle, there was a huge hole. The material had been rubbed COMPLETELY off. I was through the first layer of foam and almost through the second. It was completely RIDICULOUS!!!!! Both sides! I had a trainer come look at the way I ride, and it's not my legs rubbing back and forth, it's the saddle's material. Also, the "easy change" gullet system really isn't an easy change system. I am a pretty strong person, and had a whole lot of trouble changing the gullet.
Quality: Terrible construction!!!!!!!! I was practically broken by the time I traded it in at State Line. The employees were shocked at the damaged state of the saddle, and discontinued the model for a short time.
Summary: Overall, I would not buy this saddle again. I would give this a 1, but I am taking into consideration that I ride a lot... Anyway, I'm not discouraging State Line Tack (in fact, they were wonderful about it) or Wintec, but this model, well, sucks.
