Purchase: My mom bought me this saddle from a mail-order tack store and paid about $1200 about ten years ago.
Likes: I have a beefy little jumper who was ridiculously hard to fit. This was the only saddle I found that fit both she and I. I got the saddle when I was about 14 and was showing in children's jumpers, as well as doing Pony Club. I am now 25 and this is still the saddle I ride my mare (now 22, and still going strong) in. It is soooo comfortable and has lasted like a champ.
Dislikes: The only thing that I remember not liking about this saddle was that it came in kind of a different color - different in that I had some trouble finding things to match it at the time.
Quality: Considering I have had this saddle for more than ten years, you might expect some breakdown of the leather and stitching. That isn't really the case, however. The only situation with my saddle that has ever come up happened when someone else was riding my horse - she got left behind pretty badly over a fence, landed hard on the cantle, and broke the tree. Ouch. Crosby has a lifetime warranty on the tree, however, so we sent it to them and they fixed it. The only thing we had to pay for in the repair was new leather for the seat, because they said the old leather (which was probably 7 years old by then) wouldn't stretch back over the new tree.
