Purchase: I purchased this saddle used at a local tack shop in Brandon, FL. I paid $300 for it, although if you were to buy new and direct from Beval it'd be over $2000.
Likes: Very good quality leather that lasts a long time, this I know because my own is in fact an older unit. Unlike many newer jumping saddles today, the seat is very flat and the flaps plain, which allows maximum touch with your horse. Well balanced and wear enduring, a practical saddle, also a close contact saddle if I've ever seen one. It does not *put* you into a position, but allows you to make the correct position.
Dislikes: This saddle is not very comfortable. It's flat as a board, and feels like one too.
Quality: Made in England, it's made of very high quality leather and craftsmanship. Beval is renowned for their quality works. I'm not sure how old it is, but I'd say over 10 years- and it's still going strong and will continue to for awhile.
Summary: In general, a very practical usable jumping saddle that will last a very long time. Definitely worth my $300, and even the $2000 for a new one.
