Purchase: After comparing many different saddles, including cordura, I decided to go with the easy care Wintec, as I was just looking for a light, basic, training type saddle. I paid 279.00 (for a brand new saddle), through a seller on Ebay.
Likes: The Duraleather looks and feels great, and I like how easy it is to keep clean. The silver conchs add just enough flair without being overdone or tacky. The weight of the saddle is around 19 lbs., which I like very much, and I am sure my Arabian appreciates it as well!
Dislikes: The ONLY issue I had with the Wintec was the length of time it took me to adjust the stirrup leathers so that the excess was tucked up inside, lying flat, and was comfortable against my ankle. I am somewhat short, so I am sure that is why it took me awhile. :)
Quality: The construction of the saddle appears thorough and well fitted up. I think that with proper handling and care, as with any saddle, it will last a long time. I really like the quality of Wintec saddles. I like a saddle, that while may be synthetic, doesn't appear so. So many synthetics are cheap-looking, but the Wintec isn't.
Summary: I would recommend this saddle to anyone! The quality, construction and ease of care are all there, as well as the added bonus of being lightweight and nice to look at. It looks wonderful on my gray mare! My next saddle purchase is to be an all-purpose English saddle, and I have been eyeing the Wintec....it has all of the wonderful features above, plus the suede seat looks great!
