Purchase: I bought the saddle off of eBay for $2800. I already own one Butet but since it fits everyone in my barn, I wanted to get a second one for the lesson program.
Likes: Well the major reason I love Butet's is because it fits every horse I have ever tried it on. Plus, when I ride in it, I don't have to fight for my position. Everything just sort of falls into place. In addition to all that, the leather is so wonderful! It may sound corny, but it's a work of art as well as a saddle.
Dislikes: If I have to say something, maybe the weight? It is on the heavy side for a CC saddle, but not terrible.
Quality: The leather used on the saddle is the best. The stitching is tight, and everything holds up extremely well. Of course, I'd want nothing less than all this, considering what I paid! My older Butet I bought used 10 years ago, and even though it's darkened over time, it's still in beautiful condition. I feel like it will last me another 10 (and more likely 20 or 30) years easily.
Summary: The Butet's the best of the best, but not just because of the leather used or the construction, though both are impeccable. They are so comfy and put the rider in the perfect position for either flat work or jumps. I no longer ride in anything else!
