Purchase: I purchased the Mountain Horse Ice Rider's online from Dover Saddlery and paid roughly $98. My reasons behind buying these boots were that for one thing, I needed a durable boot to school in and also, I was looking for a warm pair of boots to ride in during the winter.
Likes: I am thoroughly impressed with these boots. I have had mine for a year now and I've worn them year round, in and out of the pasture, for mud doesn't bother these boot! They are extremely easy to clean and dry - just use water and a scrub brush! Also, the boots are very easy to get on and off because of the convenient rear zipper. In addition, they keep feet extremely warm during the winter, without bulk.
Dislikes: The only negative thing that I have found with these boots is that the thread, by which velcro tab at the top of the zipper is held on, has frayed slightly over the last year. However, I am extremely hard on my boots...
Quality: I feel the best thing about the construction of these boots is that there is a sturdy steel shank, which provides support and comfort all day long. Also, the rear zippers and soles are constructed with durability in mind. Another thing I enjoyed about the construction of these boots is the elastic gussets, which allow for unconstricted movement. These boots only took about a month to completely break in.
Summary: In conclusion, I feel that these boots are well worth their price and are very comfortable. These boots only took about a month to completely break in.
