Purchase: I bought this saddle new (on sale) about 3 years ago. I don't remember the exact price that I paid, I believe it was near $700. I was looking for a comfortable saddle that would work for jumping, flatwork and trail riding.
Likes: This is an EXTREMELY comfortable and well made saddle. After 3 years of daily riding (much of which was hard training) it's still in excellent condition and still looks great. It's not over-padded but it's shaped beautifully and is much more comfortable than any other "hard" saddle that I've ridden in. It's really difficult to fall out of this saddle. In the words of my trainer, "it hold you right in there" no matter what you're doing, and provides good support for jumping. It also has the comfort factor that allows you to go on trail rides for a few hours without having a sore rear end afterwards.
Dislikes: The only criticism that I have for this saddle, is that I would strongly recommend that you don't buy it without trying it on your horse first (don't order it online) because courbette trees tend to run narrow. Mine is marked "medium" but fits more like a medium-narrow. It fits my horse because he has fairly narrow withers, but it's too narrow for a lot of the school horses that I exercise.
Quality: Excellent quality. The stitching has held up beautifully over the years, the leather is beautiful and great quality. In the three years that I've owned it I've only cleaned/oiled it a handful of times, but you'd never guess. I've even been caught in the rain a few times on trail rides, but you'd never know it by looking at the saddle. The billets have held up as well, they haven't stretched and the leather is still holding just as strong as it was just after being broken in.
Summary: all in all, this is a great all purpose, all around saddle. No matter what your experience or what you're doing, if you plan to show or just do trail rides (I do both in this saddle) it is a great saddle.
