Purchase: I bought this from an online English tack closeout and consignment site.
It was sold as a new bridle with tags, and I paid somewhat less than the suggested retail price of $289.95 for the bridle with laced reins.
Likes: This bridle was bought primarily to show a yearling stallion in hand, so I was not concerned that it last for years.
I really like the clean lines and good workmanship, and the fact that the strap goods of the headstall are 5/8 inches wide, and rugged enough to use for a young stallion. The holes are accurately spaced, not off centered as I have found in some other brands, and the keepers all fit correctly, they don't slip off the strap ends. Buckles are also made to be easily adjusted without hurting the straps.
Dislikes: The only thing I don't like about this bridle is that it is not bigger - I am now needing a warmblood/oversize bridle for this horse and cannot find one this good for the price.
Quality: I've been very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful quality of the leather and the workmanship. The bridle has high quality and beautifully finished stainless steel buckles, EXCELLENT supple, dense and nicely edged leather, perfect stitching and careful finishing of all component parts. This bridle will last a good many years, even after the horse has outgrown it!
Summary: I am actively looking for another good buy on a larger version of this bridle - my horse will be backed soon, and I want something nice to ride him in that looks good on him, without busting my already strained budget.
