Purchase: These don't really fit into any category in your list. But I acquired one of these in a trade. When I started using it, I can't go back to a traditional saddle.

Likes: I use this on my wide backed Arabians. I do lots of really hard trail riding in it, all gaits. Up and down hills, over rocks, through creeks. The saddle is very secure on the horse's back. I can ride out a spook without losing my seat. My arthritic knees don't hurt when I use this. I love it and had to use a hard seat saddle now! I'm going to try using it for endurance riding this season.
I've been telling my friends about it and everyone who has bought one has completely fallen in love with it. The Little Joe bareback saddle is getting quite a following on my message board
I think it's the next big thing in horse tack, although I hate to see it because I would hate to see it lose quality being mass produced! Right now she makes each one individually with custom pad.
Dislikes: I haven't found anything I don't like.
I only offer one caveat. I do use it with stirrups, but I use peacock type stirrups. Because there are rings for the leathers instead of traditional English stirrup bars, I want a break away stirrup in case of a riding accident.
Quality: It's made of split cowhide, roughout on the top. It's got a double billet system and uses a dressage girth system which makes it quite secure. It's got lots of D-rings for hanging stuff, trail gear, etc.
It's very well padded and feels like riding on a pillow!
You can use stirrups safely.
Summary: You have a hard time getting me to ride in anything else now! And I've got enough saddles and tack to start my own store.. English, Western, Endurance, etc....This is my consistent favorite.
