Purchase: I got this item new through equiproducts a local tack store(a saddle fitter came out to fit my horse). I have tried every sort of saddle on my horse that never seems to fit, this one did (yeah!!!!!). I bought this saddle because besides fitting my horse, it was also fairly comfortable and fit me (I have very short legs and am fairly stout so this was no mean feat). I paid around $2500 CND for it.
Likes: The saddle is very well balanced, with knee and thigh blocks (I'm so used to riding without these that when I finally tried this saddle, I had near perfect position- like magic). It fits the unusually shaped horses, and it's made out of good quality leather (I haven't had this saddle too long, so I don't know how it wears over time). The saddle makes me feel very secure and has a generous seat. The company also seems to be pretty good about customizing saddles as well (I needed a shorter flap than normal). For once I feel confident in the saddle I've bought.
Dislikes: Although it looks good from a distance, the shape of the panels near the back of the saddle are just too oddly shaped to please my conservative views of what a saddle should look like. I also find this saddle extremely heavy when lifting, more so than any other saddle I've used. The standard flaps are very forward, and tend to fit a taller rider better, but the company is very easy to arrange a custom saddle for very little cost to the consumer so this isn't really a worry, just something I wanted to point out. Other than this, I like this saddle a lot.
Quality: Comes in a large variety of colors, with very full supple leather (I think its french- although the saddle itself is made in England). Strong stitching and durable flocking, its great to fit any type of horse, even the harder ones. Has knee and thigh blocks, and comes in all sizes of tree.
Summary: It took me a lot of time, money and effort to find this saddle (I've tried a lot of saddles on my horse since I got him). This saddle looks decent, if pretty comfortable, and can fit horse and rider easily.
